In Passing

Sale price$695.00

In Passing captures a vineyard-covered hillside near Petaluma, in Northern California's Sonoma County wine region. Seen through a natural opening in the surrounding trees, rows of grapevines trace the contours of the land beneath an expansive spring sky. The carefully cultivated hillside contrasts with the untamed vegetation in the foreground, creating a layered view of a landscape shaped by both agriculture and nature.

Petaluma sits at the southern edge of Sonoma County's wine country, where rolling hills, open grasslands, and agricultural fields have long defined the landscape. In In Passing, Kim captures a scene easily overlooked in the course of everyday travel. The vineyard appears briefly between the trees, its repeating patterns drawing the eye toward the crest of the hill. It is a moment of unexpected beauty, discovered in a place most people simply pass through.

Created as part of WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, the body of work that inspired Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the photograph while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame with a 1.6-inch-wide profile, made in Germany. Available in black, white, or natural oak, each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
