The Town follows a group of lifelong friends and bank robbers in Charlestown, Boston, as an increasingly complicated heist draws them into the path of the FBI.

For the score, composers Harry Gregson-Williams and David Buckley had written a central theme on piano and wanted to translate it to guitar. Kim recorded the part using his 1967 Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessean, splitting the electric guitar signal between a dry track and a second signal running through a Marshall stack.

The part was initially recorded in two sections before being re-recorded as a single performance.
