Gone Baby Gone follows two private investigators searching for a missing child in Boston, drawing them into a case where the line between right and wrong becomes increasingly difficult to define.

Kim was called into the studio with only a few hours’ notice before director Ben Affleck arrived to hear the music. He brought a full electric guitar rig, acoustic guitars and several other instruments, planning to record an electric guitar part using an E-Bow.

Just as Affleck was coming up the stairs, the electric rig stopped producing sound. With no time to troubleshoot, Kim grabbed the nearest acoustic guitar, plugged it directly into the preamp and played the part with the E-Bow as Affleck walked into the studio.

The unexpected combination worked. What began as a technical problem became an unconventional guitar sound that found its way into the score.
