Grounded

Sale price$695.00

Grounded captures the quiet beauty of the Sonoma Coast in Northern California, where rolling grasslands stretch across the landscape above the Pacific Ocean. Beneath an expansive blue sky, coastal grasses and low-growing vegetation create a richly textured hillside, their golden and green tones contrasting with the soft movement of clouds overhead. The composition is striking in its simplicity, with the land occupying a narrow band beneath the open sky.

Along this rugged stretch of coastline, persistent winds, seasonal rainfall, and the influence of the nearby ocean shape the vegetation and character of the land. Away from the dramatic cliffs and rocky shorelines, these coastal grasslands offer a quieter expression of the region's natural beauty. In Grounded, Kim turns his attention to this understated landscape, finding a sense of balance between the solidity of the earth and the openness of the sky.

Created as part of WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, the body of work that inspired Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the photograph while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame with a 1.6-inch-wide profile, made in Germany. Available in black, white, or natural oak, each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
