Margin

Margin captures a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean through the rugged coastal landscape near Goat Rock Beach, along Northern California's Sonoma Coast. Here, the land creates a natural frame around the water, revealing only a portion of the vast ocean beyond. The photograph draws attention to the space between what is visible and what remains hidden, inviting the viewer to look beyond the immediate landscape.

This stretch of coastline is defined by dramatic headlands, rocky outcroppings, and the meeting of land and sea. Shaped by wind, waves, and the persistent forces of erosion, the landscape is constantly changing. In *Margin*, Kim turns his attention to the boundary between these elements, finding a quiet composition within one of Northern California's most dynamic environments.

Originally created for WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the work while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original photograph.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame with a 1.6-inch-wide profile, made in Germany. Available in black, white, or natural oak, each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
