Still Point

Sale price$695.00

Still Point was photographed at Tomales Bay on Northern California's coast using medium-format film on a Hasselblad 500CM. The bay follows the San Andreas Fault, where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet. Despite its quiet appearance, this landscape is shaped by geological forces that have moved the earth for millions of years.

Kim made the photograph at low tide, when the retreating water reveals broad tidal flats beneath an immense sky. A solitary structure stands on the distant horizon, offering a fixed point within a landscape defined by movement. The contrast between the stillness of the scene and the forces beneath it gives the photograph its title.

Originally created for WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the work while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original photograph.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame with a 1.6-inch-wide profile, made in Germany. Available in black, white, or natural oak, each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
