The River Between

Sale price$695.00

The River Between captures a fleeting view of the Russian River from Highway 101 near Healdsburg, a small town in Northern California's Sonoma County wine region. As travelers cross the river, they are offered a brief glimpse of the water winding between wooded banks, with the historic Memorial Bridge visible in the distance. It is a view encountered by thousands of people passing through the region, yet one that disappears almost as quickly as it appears.

Originating in the mountains of Mendocino County, the Russian River travels south through Sonoma County before turning west toward the Pacific Ocean near Jenner. For generations, its waters have shaped the surrounding valleys, sustained communities, and supported the agricultural landscape. In this photograph, the river appears almost motionless beneath an expansive sky, a quiet moment glimpsed from a highway built for movement.

Created as part of WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, the body of work that inspired Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the photograph while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame with a 1.6-inch-wide profile, made in Germany. Available in black, white, or natural oak, each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
