Time — Stacked
Time — Stacked was photographed in the redwood country of western Sonoma County using medium format film on a Hasselblad 500CM. Coast redwoods can live for more than 2,000 years, creating forests where generations of growth exist side by side. Kim was drawn to that accumulation of time within the landscape: trunks rising through the frame, each occupying its own place in a much longer history.
The title grew from that sense of time made visible. In a redwood forest, centuries seem to exist simultaneously, layered one upon another rather than simply passing away.
Originally created for WEST OF MORNING — Analog Landscapes of Northern California, Kim’s inaugural exhibition at fís Gallery, this Studio Edition offers another way to collect the work while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original photograph.
Each print is produced on Hahnemühle fine art paper, presented with a 3-inch archival white mat, and finished in a handcrafted solid wood frame made in Germany. Each Studio Edition arrives ready to hang.
